Galawater
offered our first bulls for sale through the ring in 2005
and our hope is to continue to offer several bulls through
the ring each year, in an attempt to raise our profile in the breed.
However, we will continue to sell bulls at home by private
treaty as soon as they come off test at 12 months of age. Our bulls are reared on a forage based diet, with
their long term health and correctness, rather
than huge weights for age our priority. Performance recording is however
very important to us, and all bulls have weights and ultrasound
scanning results recorded with Breedplan. Bulls leave the
farm having been Semen tested if the purchaser desires and
insured.
We also sell many breeding heifers, both
pure and crossbred, privately and through the ring. Our own
stock heifers calve at two years of age, with the majority
of our sale heifers capable of doing the same.
We usually have a selection of bulls for sale. At the moment
these include a powerful and muscular set of bulls mainly sired
by our stock bulls, Rawburn Echester and Summerhill Beethoven
and Rawwburn Elysium but
also include a powerhouse of a son of Ankonian Elixir. May 2010
will see the second crop of
calves by our herd sires, Rawburn Elysium and Summerhill
Beethoven as well as cracking set of ET calves by Ankonian
Werner Wildfire and GH Coverboy come off of test and be offered for sale.
Our bulls are raised on a high forage diet, are all fully weight
recorded, ultrasound scanned and will leave the farm Semen
Tested and insured if the purchaser desires. Listed below are a

Echester x Tui Blackmark
Panther
is a big, powerful son of Echester and our foundation and now
donor Poppy cow who, along with her daughter have bred
so successfully for us. Indeed the family are perhaps the
strongest, maternally, in the herd. This bull has extraordinary length
and a great top. He ranks in the top 1% for Terminal Index as
well as having a better than average Calving Ease and very high
Milk figure. The complete package.
Elixir 100 x Impact
Fullback was one of our top performing bulls last year, posting
one of the heaviest 400 day weights and the biggest eye muscle
scans. His pedigree is full of top animals being a son of Elixir
and out of the B162 Netherton cow. Fullback combines all this
performance, muscle and power with a terrific milk value.
Echester x Air-Walk
Emperor can only be described as a muscle machine. Sired by the
most proven bull in the breed for adding eye muscle and out of a
cow who's progeny regularly top our scanning results, this comes
as no surprise. His dam has consistently produced one of our
most sellable bulls every year and Emperor is no exception.
Beethoven x Echester
Bertie is in our minds, a little special. He boasts one of the
best set of ebvs we have ever had on a bull, combining plenty of
growth, a massive muscle score, loads of milk and a great
calving ease score. Sired by Beethoven who has been such a
success on our heifers and young cows and out of one of our top
young cows (pictured here), we used Bertie on our pure heifers
this summer. We wait with anticipation for his first calves.
Beethoven x Echester
Basher is another Beethoven (pictured here)son from the same
great family as Bertie, above, who we also used on heifers last
summer. Again he combines a super carcase with a great hip
structure and a bit of bone with great calving ease and milk.
Elysium x Ebony
Born in mid-September, Excalibur has looked
every bit the "Herd Bull" since the day he was born. Sired by
the great Elysium and out of our donor cow Ermine D758, who is a
maternal sister to our much admired Excalibur B381, we hope to
show this young bull through the summer before being sold in the
Autumn. His good looks are backed up with some impressive
numbers, being our all time highest eye muscle scan bull.

Over the last three years we have slowly been building up a bank
of embryos by both flushing some of our most successful
foundation cows as they have neared the end of their working
life and by taking out of production for up to a whole season
some of our top home bred cows that we feel we want more
influence in the herd by. We are now in the position to offer
for sale a selection of embryos from these matings, many of
which have already or we are confident will have a big influence
on the success of our herd or yours! Below is a list of embryos
