 Galawater
offered our first bulls for sale through the ring in 2005
and our hope is to continue to offer several bulls through
the ring each year, in an attempt to raise our profile in the breed.
However, we will continue to sell bulls at home by private
treaty as soon as they come off test at 12 months of age. Our bulls are reared on a forage based diet, with
their long term health and correctness, rather
than huge weights for age our priority. Performance recording is however
very important to us, and all bulls have weights and ultrasound
scanning results recorded with Breedplan. Bulls leave the
farm having been Semen tested if the purchaser desires and
insured.
We also sell many breeding heifers, both
pure and crossbred, privately and through the ring. Our own
stock heifers calve at two years of age, with the majority
of our sale heifers capable of doing the same.
May 2007 will see our 2006 bull calf crop come off test and
be offered for sale. We think these calves are perhaps our most
exciting to date and are mainly by our two stock bulls, Galawater Excalibur B381 and Rawburn Echester D297
and include
Galawater Edition F112 who ranks number one for Eye
Muscle Area born in 2006 and is a maternal brother to our
herd sire Galawater Excalibur B381. Our offering
also includes six ET calves, produced from the matings of some
of the top Angus cattle in North America. Our bulls are raised
on a high forage diet and are all fully weight recorded and
ultrasound scanned and will leave the farm Semen Tested and
insured if the purchaser desires. Listed below are a few that we
think might be of interest to commercial and pedigree breeders

Excalibur x Tui Blackmark
Very thick Excalibur son who posted a 400 day
weight of 672 kg and an eye muscle area of 94. His dam is the
best milking cow in the herd which is backed up by her huge milk
ebv of +17. He also excels in his calving and scrotal figures.
Chester x Eyrton X20
This young bull is one of our real
favourites. His Eyrton X20 dam is probably our top homebred cow
and will enter our ET progamme this year. Prince Charming
weighed 693 kg at 400 days and measured a 96 rib-eye.
Chester x Wiwa Creek North Star (Excalibur's Dam)
Out of the same dam as our herd sire
Galawater Excalibur B381, this young bull was the top performer
of his year in every way. He posted a 400 day weight of 748 kg
and a phenomenal rib-eye of 114 at 370 days!! This
measurement earned him the joint top eye muscle area ebv in the
whole breed born in 2006 and one of the highest of all time. He
also recorded the highest marbling score in our herd this year.
Chester x Eyrton X20 of Blelack
SOLD
Another son of Rawburn Echester, and another
of our top performers. He had our joint second top 400 day
weight at 741 kg and a massive rib eye of 98. Dominator is one
of the most powerful bulls in our lot, has a great hip structure
and an amazing loin. He is out of a very thick Eyrton X20
daughter who's pedigree goes back to the famous Duchess line at
Rawburn.
Excalibur x HF Air-Walk
Very modern, heavily muscled bull with huge
eye muscle and scrotal ebv's. He is out of one of our favourite
Air-Walk daughters from our productive Bonita family. He weighrd
618 kg at 400 days and had a 84cm rib-eye.
Chester x HF Air-Walk
Another very long, heavily muscled Chester
son from an Air-Walk dam whose first son is already working in a
pedigree herd. Eagle posted a 400 day weight of 625kg and a big
rib-eye of 94. Complementing his growth and muscling he has very
good milk and calving ease figures.
Vermilion Yellowstone x Tilda
RETAINED
TBone (a grand-son of the great VRD) has
shown explosive growth to 400 days posting our joint second top
weight this year at 741 kg at 400 days. He shows great width and power from
top to toe and has a great hip structure. He has a terminal index
in the top 5%.
VRD x Coldstream Primrose 82F
One of three ET brothers born in 2006,
Preditor is by the high performance North American sire VRD who
has already sired sons to 36,000 gns in this country. Preditor
has super calving ease figures to go along with his high growth
and good milk figures. Individually he weighed 614 kg at 400
days with a eye muscle area of 87.

One of three ET brothers born in 2006,

has super calving ease figures to go along with his high growth
and good milk figures. Individually he weighed 630 kg at 400
days with a eye muscle area of 94.
Grandview Womack Direct x Ellen Erica
This is perhaps one of the most exciting
young bulls here at the moment. A large framed bull, he exudes
class and power. His dam Cudlobe Ellen Erica has proven to be
one of the most successful donor dams introduced from
Canada in recent years. She is also the dam of our herd sire Rawburn Echester D297, who has bred so well for us. Expectation
posted a 400 day weight of 721 kg with an eye muscle area of 98.
He managed this whilst only carrying 5mm of fat.
Grandview Womack Direct x Ellen Erica
A full brother to the above bull he exhibits
the same power and class. He weighed 675 kg and had a 93 cm
rib-eye.
VRD x Coldstream Primrose 82F
One of three ET brothers born in 2006, Prime Cut is by the
high performance North American sire VRD who has already sired
sons to 36,000 gns in this country. Prime Cut has super calving
ease figures to go along with his high growth and good milk
figures. Individually he weighed 643 kg at 400 days with a eye
muscle area of 88.
Excalibur x Wiwa Creek North Star (G.Dam of Bold King E925)
One of the thickest yearling bulls this year, he is sired by
Excalibur and out of our foundation Barbara Kim cow, Barbara Kim
of Auchterforfar who has probably been the most influential cow
in the herd to date. Her sons and grandsons have been our top
sellers and include her grandson Galawater Bold King E925, the
Supreme Champion at Perth in February 2007 who sold for 15,000
gns. Other descendants include Bulldozer Kiwi (6000 gns), Bold
Knight (exported to Switzerland) and Battle Kry E980 (a full
brother to F165) who stands at the renowned Cubbyhill herd.
F165 posted a 400 day weight of 632 kg and a rib-eye of 85 cm.
Chester x Eyrton X20
Bronco is out of a dam who consistently has produced one of
our top bull calves every year. They include Bully Boy E889 who
posted our highest ever muscle scan on the old muscle depth
system. Bronco has the the same great character and power of all
the Chester calves and also has better than average calving and
milk figures to compliment his super muscling and rib fat
scores. He weighed 619 kg at 400 days with eye muscle scan of 87
and a fat depth of only 5.5 mm.
Chester x Dam of Bold King E925
Brigadier is a young calf with huge
potential. He is out of the same Eyrton X20 dam as Bold King
E925, Supreme Champion at Perth in February 2007 and despite being
nursed as a twin he still managed to post an adjusted 400 day weight of
692 kg. Brigadier's dam has consistently produced sons with
great length and width (Bulldozer Kiwi, also a twin sold for
6000 gns Perth February 2006) and this youngster is no
exception.

A thick more traditional type of cow from
our very productive Emily family, who has
consistently bred well. Her 2006 heifer calf had the second
highest eye muscle area this year. She has a promising bull
calf at foot by Rawburn Echester D297.
Another fleshy, traditional cow
descending from Newcairnie bloodlines. She has a smart
heifer calf at foot by Galawater Excalibur B381.
