X20 OF BLELACK
Purchased at Perth in February 2000, Eyton
is a very thick son of the famous Royal Added Value 19D. He
has proven to have bred very well and has left cattle with
lovely top lines, great muscle depth and good growth rates.
His sons have sold readily, with his top son Galawater Excalibur
B381 having been retained as Stock Bull for our pedigree cows.
Another son, Galawater Edwin A258 (pictured here), has been
retained for use in our commercial herd. Eyrton’s daughters
have developed into very correct “good doing”
cows, which are easily fleshed and milk very well.

AIR-WALK 33F
SEMEN FOR SALE
Purchased privately from the Cheeklaw Herd
as a senior bull after a very successful term there. A grandson
of the legendary Canadian show cow Knight’s Blackbird
9Y, he is a very consistent breeder who always leaves progeny
that are very correct, fleshy and well balanced. His daughters
are beautiful examples of the breed with lovely lines, perfect
udders and lots of character. Air-Walk’s sons are also
very easily sold, with Galawater Lord Rupert C618 lifting
the Supreme Championship at the May show and sale at Carlisle
in 2005, and then selling for the second top price of 4700gns.
Unfortunately Air-Walk had to be destroyed following a serious
leg injury after only one season here, but being so pleased
with his progeny, we continue to use him through AI.
Air-Walk has always been very easily calved, making him the
ideal bull to use on both pure and commercial heifers.

 WEDDERLIE
EBONY B407
Purchased privately from Wedderlie in the
spring of 2003, when he was our selection as the top Yearling
Bull there. Ebony is one of the last sons of the very successful
Tui Blackmark, who again traces back to Blackbird 9Y, and
out of one of the best Lord Horatio daughters at Wedderlie.
She was sold for 8500gns as the Lot 1 attraction at the first
“Blacks in the Borders” sale in 2003. Ebony was
purchased on the strength of the growth rates and maternal
excellence packed in his pedigree. He now boasts one of the
top milk EBV’s in the breed as well as high growth rates
balanced with a very low birth weight and calving ease for
such a big, powerful bull. His daughters are now in
production and have performed in the field just as we had
hoped. His sons have been easily sold and include our 2007
Perth Supreme Champion, Galawater Bold King E925 who sold
for 15,000gns.

 GALAWATER
EXCALIBUR B381
SEMEN FOR SALE
Retained to strengthen the influence of his
sire (Eyrton X20 of Blelack), Excalibur is a son of one of
our very best Foundation females Ermine 2nd of Auchterforfar.
This female is a full sister to the 5000gns Ermine of Auchterforfar
and is in the top 1% for Muscle Depth. Excalibur has great
presence with an amazing Top, Hip and Hindquarters with
great muscle definition. He has been shown only once, when
he was placed Reserve Male Champion at the Royal Highland
Show in 2005. Very much admired he then headed up the Team
of Three Aberdeen-Angus which were awarded the championship
in the Native Breeds Inter-Breed Teams Competition. At the
show he weighed an impressive 1340 kg just shortly after his
3rd birthday. His first crop of bulls have inherited his
power and flesh and have sold easily at home at up to £6000.

ECHESTER D297
Selected as the Top Yearling Sale Bull at
Rawburn in the spring of 2005, he posted a 400 Day Weight
of 736 kg, Muscle Depth of 92 mm and a Back Fat Depth of only
6.9 mm. His awesome Pedigree includes the top US sire
Hoff
Limited Edition, who is a trait leader for Growth and Muscle.
Limited Edition has been described as the “Most powerful
bull in North America” and has sired a long line of
show and sale toppers. “Chester’s” dam Cudlobe
Ellen Erica is one of the most stylish and powerful cows in
Canada. Daughters of her sire, Cudlobe Chester, form the backbone
of the famous Cudlobe herd in Canada. Chester boasts a phenomenal
hip structure, top and hindquarters combined with real character.
Like his four flush sisters at Rawburn, he looks sure to make
a big impact. We hope his scale and performance will complement
our quality daughters of Eyrton X20, HF Air-Walk 33F and Excalibur
B381.

ERIC U103 OF NEWCAIRNIE
After using Jet Eric very successfully twice
to AI commercial heifers and having been delighted with the
offspring, we decided to AI our pedigree heifers with him
in 2004. These calves are now on the ground and they are performing
just as we had hoped. He has suited our heifers very well
and we have a few real standouts, out of both Air-Walk and
Ankonian Elixir daughters. Jet Eric was the top Beef Value
Bull in the 2000 Sire and Dam Summary and still ranks in the
top 5% for Growth and Terminal Sire Index and the top 1% for
Milk. He leaves calves with great length, tops and backsides.
We have now calved over 40 heifers to him with no problems.

 ANKONIAN
ELIXIR 100
Elixir has been used lightly by AI but will
definitely be more heavily used in the future. We have retained
Galawater Bentley C535, a very thick Elixir son out of an
Eyrton X20 daughter. Elixir was sold for $100,000 and is a
trait leader for Milk. He is also in the top 1% for 200, 400
and 600 day weights, Rib Eye Area and Scrotal Size, 5% for
Rib Fat and Retail Beef Yield and the top 1% for Terminal
Sire Index. He has already sired the Male Champion at the
Highland in 2002 and has sold sons to 24,000gns at Perth in
October 2005. An Elixir 100 daughter is also nursing one of
our most promising bull calves in 2005.

RANUI W IMPACT 762
Impact has also been used by AI on a few
of our heifers, with one of the bull calves for sale at Perth
in February. Impact is sired by TC Stockman 365, who is one
of the leading carcase bulls in the world, leaving outstanding
carcase EPD’s. Impact’s dam is one of New Zealand’s
top cows and is sired by Atahua Legacy who sold for the record
price of 155,000 dollars. He has left very correct, good doing
cattle with super temperaments. Impact ranks in the top 1%
for Calving Ease, Milk and Terminal Sire Index, in the top
5% for Eye Muscle Area and 200 Day Weight and the top 10%
for 400 Day Weight.

Avenger was the top-selling bull in the 2000,
Pollard Farms sale. He is their top son of WK Appeal, a very
stout, muscular son of Battle Cry who was the 1998 and 1999 Fort
Worth Reserve Grand Champion Bull. He was also Reserve Senior
Champion in Denver in 2000. Avenger ranks in the top 5% for 400
day weight and milk and in the top 10% for weaning weight.

Hoff First Edition is one of the most
powerful bulls ever to be sold at Hoff Scotch Cap. He was the
high selling bull in their 2003 sale ($45,000) and recorded a
massive 365-day weight of 742 kg. He combines huge growth,
muscle and power with very impressive performance figures and a
relatively low birth weight Ebv. His pedigree combines many of
the great Hoff bulls including Limited Edition, Head of
the Class, Trail Boss and the great Scotch Cap.

With over 3000 calves recorded in USA, New
Level's has proven himself to be one of the top performance
calving ease bulls around. He consistently sires easy calving
fast growing efficient cattle with sound feet and legs, great
thickness and fleshing ability as well as having great maternal
strengths. He ranks in the top 5% for weaning and yearling
weight, top 1% for milk and top 15% for low birth weight.

Ricochet 7R is an
outstanding young herd sire by one of the dominant sires in
North America at the moment, Roth Regulator 0405. Ricochet is
very thick, deep bodied, heavy boned and has great feet and
legs. His dam Sandy Bar Duchess 33G has been one of the most
consistent breeders in the BJ Cattle Co.'s breeding program. He
was shown with great success as a bull calf and a yearling in
Canada.

POWERLINE 0050
Powerline is the sire of embryo calves at
Galawater in 2005. He was purchased in the Denver Stock Show
Sale by Hamilton Farms, K-Deen Angus, Allan Browarny and Pat
Fullam from Ireland. Powerline was Reserve Grand Champion
Bull at Farmfair & Reserve Jr. Champion at Agribition
2001. He was a class winner & 2nd high seller at the 2001
Denver Bull Sale. Powerline ranked #1 in the entire Riverbend
2000 calf crop for weaning & yearling growth. Outstanding
growth is stamped in his genetics. His dam Leachman Blackbird
8060 was the top performing heifer of the 1998 calf crop at
Leachman's in Bozeman. In the UK Powerline has already sired
the inaugural Winter Fair Supreme Champion, Elliot Rosebud.

Also the sire of embryo calves in 2005, Lead
On is one of the most popular bulls in the US at the moment.
He is a powerful, moderate framed bull that transmits tremendous
muscle relative to his low Birth Weight. His calves at Galawater
were of a very moderate Birth Weight and came very easily.
Lead On ranks in the top 1% for 400 Day Weight, Milk and Terminal
Sire Index, top 5% for 200 Day Weight balanced with a below
average Birth Weight.

Yellowstone is one of the top sons of VRD,
having sold for $60,000. His progeny have exceptional growth

Royce is regarded by most who have seen him
to be one of the most complete Angus bulls that they have
seen, with great thickness and fleshing qualities. His daughters
are extremely good doing cattle with a huge number of them
gaining “Pathfinder” status in the US. His dam,
Ahlgrens Estella 2758 was still productive at 17 years of
age when she sold half interest for $42,000. Royce ranks in
the top 1% for Milk, top 15% for 400 and 600 Day Weight and

DATELINE 708
Sire of our foundation Blackbird female,
Penguin Blackbird C148 and with embryo pregnancies expected
in 2006, VRD is a clean fronted and free moving bull that
puts it all together; style, growth and exceptional performance.
He has been the sire of many high selling cattle in US and
is a highly proven growth bull. VRD calves are extra long
bodied with a lot of top and hindquarter, and consistently
deliver high Eye Muscle Area and Retail Beef Yield. VRD ranks
second equal for Terminal Sire Index amongst proven sires
in the UK, along with a top 5% Milk value. His sons in this

New Frontier is the sire of confirmed pregnancies
from Coldstream Tidy Bee 65G in our embryo program for 2006.
He is very widely used in the US where his sensational first
calf crop earned him a solid EPD balance, ranking in the top
10% for Weaning Weight EPD, Milk EPD, Yearling Weight EPD,
IMF EPD and Ultrasound Rib Eye Area EPD. He sold one-half
interest for $23,000 as the top-selling bull of the 2001 Rishel
Sale. This son of the legendary carcass sire, B/R New Design
036, was produced from the $100,000 White Fence Pride H1,
who is a full sister to the rare and valuable sire, Connealy
Frontline, descending from the proven Pathfinder Dam, Pleasant
Pill of Conanga. New Frontier is also a full brother to the
very successful Lemmon Newsline.
