FOUNDATION FEMALES
EULYN U29 OF THE MOSS
Eulyn was one of our first purchases when
we acquired her at the Broadmeadows Dispersal. She and her
bull calf were the High Selling Cow/Calf pair that day. She
has proven to be a very good breeder with her son Galawater
Edwin A258 retained for use in our commercial herd and light
duties amongst the pedigrees. Her Air-Walk daughter Galawater
Eulyn C680 is one of our favourite young cows and her 2005
and 2006 heifer calves, by Galawater Excalibur are real standouts
and amonst our top performers. Eulyn consistently breeds
calves with extra length, style and performance and has
joined our flushing programme in 2006.

PRIMROSE OF KEABOG
Primrose is a very deep, square and fleshy
daughter of the legendary Lord Horatio P11 of Blelack and
was purchased at the Keabog dispersal. Her dam, Wedderlie
Princess F10, is also the maternal grandam of the great brood
cow, Wedderlie Poppy P21. Primrose has bred well, with her
first son (Galawater Pegasus Z815) retained for use at home,
and her first daughter Galawater Princess A200 turning into
one of our most impressive homebred females.

BARBARA KIM OF AUCHTERFORFAR
Barbara Kim has definitely been one of our
better purchases. Her first three calves were heifers, all
of which have been retained. These daughters have also proven
to be very good breeders, and as a result the “Barbara
Kims” are now one of our top families. Barbara Kim is
a daughter of the record priced Wiwa Creek North Star 20’90
and descends from the famous Barbaras from Ushaw. She excels
in muscle depth, milk and fleshing ability.
Her sons and grandsons have been easily sold, at up
to 15,000gns and include her grandson, Galawater Bold King
E925, our 2007 Supreme Champion at Perth bull sale and the
bull that we exported to Switzerland in 2006.

EMILIA OF KEABOG
Another foundation female purchased at the
Keabog dispersal, again full of Wedderlie breeding. Sired
by the Samurai grandson, Elbarbar of Eastfield, Emilia heads
our Emily family, which always have great conformation and
fleshing ability. Emilia has three daughters retained in the
herd and has a son for sale at Perth in 2006. A Jet Eric of
Newcairnie sired grandson of Emilia born in 2005 is perhaps
the best shaped calf we have ever bred.

HAULKERTON MAUREEN
Haulkerton Maureen descends from the imported
Canadian cow Perryville Mo Erica 29Y and is a cow with extra
power, depth, width and a great head. Her daughter Galawater
Mo Erica Z137 is one of the biggest cows in the herd. Maureen’s
first son was sold at Carlisle in May 2005 after being placed
third in his class

ERMINE 2ND OF AUCHTERFORFAR
Ermine is the dam of Galawater Excalibur,
our senior Stock Bull and Reserve Male Champion at the Royal
Highland Show 2005. She is a very square, fleshy cow with
a fantastic top, ranking in the top 1% for Eye Muscle Area
and always milking her calf very well. Ermine is another daughter
of Wiwa Creek North Star 20’90 and traces back to Downfield
and Newcairnie lines on her dam’s side. Her full sister
Ermine of Auchterforfar was sold for 5000gns. Ermine has
been flushed successfully in 2006. Her 2006 son Galawater
Edition F112, by "Chester" recorded our second top weaning
weight, top 300 and 400 day
weights in his year as well as recording one of the highest
muscle scans ever (114 cm2 at 370 days). He now ranks number
one for Eye Muscle Area born in 2006.

BOBBIE OF KEABOG
A very square, moderate framed granddaughter
of Lord Horatio, Bobbie consistently produces one of our favourite
calves every year. Tracing back to the Bonita’s at Newcairnie,
Bobbie has three daughters retained, all amongst the top of
their year group. She is also the grand-dam of the high performing
Galawater Bentley C535 who was retained in 2005.

RAWBURN DUCHESS ROXBURGHE Y388
This cow is one of the high performance dams
in the herd. Duchess’s calves are always amongst the
highest performers. Her last two bull calves have been the
highest and second highest gaining calves of their year. A
daughter of Elgar of the Moss and tracing back to the famous
Southolm Duchess at Rawburn, she ranks in the top 1% for Retail
Beef Yield, Top 5% for Eye Muscle Area and Terminal Sire Index
and top 20% for 400 Day Weight. She balances all this performance
with a top 20% Milk EBV and being in the top 10% for Calving
Ease Direct. We have retained all three of her daughters.

RAWBURN PHILIPPA Y396
Another daughter of Elgar, who has also produced
some of our best performing calves. Her bull calf this year
had an adjusted 200 day weight of 396 kg. She has also produced
sons with 400 day weights of up to 760kg. She ranks in the
top 5% for Terminal Sire Index, top 10% for 200, 400 Day Weights
and Calving Ease Direct. Philippa has three daughters retained

RAWBURN ELAN Y398
Elan is also a daughter of Elgar and has
the top Terminal Sire Index of all our foundation cows. She
descends from Rawburn Elise, who led the Sire and Dam Summary
for many years as the leading Beef Value cow in the breed.
She herself ranks in the top 1% for 400 and 600 Day Weights
and Terminal Sire Index, top 5% for Carcase Weight and Milk
Value but still in the top 20% for Calving Ease Direct. She
has predominantly bred bull calves but her one daughter is
a favourite.
